The Gir Sanctuary interpretation zone is divided into two safari parks – the Devalia safari park near Sasan in the west wildlife division, and in the east wildlife division near Dhari as Ambardi safari park.
Devaliya Safari Park – Sasan Gir Interpretation Zone
Gir Interpretation Zone Devalia is popularly known as Devaliya Safari Park in Gir (west) wildlife division near Sasan.
Devalia Safari Park comprises 412 ha of chain-link fenced area which is ‘Gir in a nutshell’, covering all habitat types and all major representatives of wildlife of Gir.
Gir Interpretation Zone created at Devalia by Forest Development To reduce the disturbance from tourism in the main sanctuary area. The basic aim of creating Devaliya Safari Park facility is to provide an opportunity to view lions and other animals in their natural habitat within a short period and reduce tourist pressure on the sanctuary.
Devalia Safari Park is located around 56 km from Junagadh and around 13 kms from Sasan Gir village, 374 km from Ahmedabad and 158 Kms from Rajkot.
Gir Interpretation Zone Devalia offers an ace variety of Flora And Fauna. Devalia Safari Park is the home of different species of deer in the form of Spotted Deers, Blue Bulls, Wild Boars, Blackbucks, Sambars, Chinkara, Indian Fox, Jackal And Striped Hyena.

Note: The Gir National Park, which is home to over 520 Asiatic lions, will remain shut for tourists, both domestic and foreigners, from June 16 to October 15 every year.
The park is closed during this period every year as it is the breeding season for many animals, including the big cats.

- In every slot of jeep safari ride only 10 jeeps are allowed by the forest department
- The permit is issued purely on first come and first serve basis
- Do not forget to carry your ID proof in original, it is mandatory while making entry at the gate
- Please carry the same ID card that you produced at the time of booking
Note: GIZ Devalia Safari remains closed on every wednesday.
Note: In one E-permit maximum 6 (+1*) persons will be allowed.
- Only 1 child between 3 to 12 years will be allowed.
- The permit doesn’t include the Guide charge (Rs. 400 only) and Gypsy charge (Rs. 1500 only), which must be paid separately to respective Guides and Gypsy vehicle owners.

How to Reach Devaliya Safari Park – Sasan Gir
By Road
Devalia Safari Park has located around 56 km from Junagadh and around 13 km from Sasan Gir village, the most common base for making a visit, 374 km from Ahmedabad and 158 Kms from Rajkot. The Reception centre is at Devalia Park & Sasan Gir and has a Forest Guesthouse maintained by the forest department, nearby the railway station.
By Rail
One can travel by Rail to Junagadh from Ahmedabad or Rajkot and then take a 55 km road trip on bus or taxi to Devalia Safari Park or can come via local trains from Junagadh city up to Sasan Gir village.
By Air
